Educational & Coaching Supports

If you are referring a youth to Graduation Success and the option is not available, please submit a resource referral by selecting ‘The Treehouse Store and Just-in-Time Funding’ under “Resource Supports” and then send us a note at referrals@treehouseforkids.org or reply to the form submission email and let us know that this referral is for Graduation Success.

Looking for Educational Advocacy?

Unfortunately, Educational Advocacy is no longer able to serve youth in Pre-K, but if you need case consultation, information, or resourcing to assist with navigating the intersection of education and foster care, please book time to meet with any Treehouse Educational Advocate (opens in a new tab).

Educational Advocacy

Educational Advocacy is a statewide program serving K–12 students who are attending, or attempting to attend public school in Washington State, and are experiencing educational barriers. Learn more about Educational Advocacy and program eligibility here.

Please note that Educational Advocacy is not able to serve the following youth: students in preschool or pre-k; those who have already graduated from high school; or those who have obtained their GED.

Graduation Success

A complete list of Graduation Success school districts currently accepting referrals may be viewed here.

Graduation Success pairs high school-age youth currently seeking their high school diploma or GED with an Education Specialist who helps them engage and invest in their education and future. We will attempt to engage all eligible youth once we receive their referral. Learn more about Graduation Success and program eligibility here.

Graduation Success

Youth who live in or are placed with a caregiver who lives in one of the school districts currently open to new Graduation Success referrals, but is enrolled in: a state-accredited online program (e.g., Insight School of Washington, Washington Connections Academy, etc.); a charter or private school; are pursuing a GED; or are enrolled in some other accredited non-traditional high school completion program; are eligible for Graduation Success.

If you are interested in referring a youth to Graduation Success and they fall under one of the above scenarios and the program request option is not available, please submit a resource referral by selecting ‘The Treehouse Store and Just-in-Time Funding’ under “Resource Supports” and then reply to the form submission email or form update email letting us know that you would like to refer the youth to Graduation Success.

Graduation Success: Tribal Engagement

The Tribal Engagement program strives to work collaboratively with tribal communities to support youth in care on their academic journey. Barriers to school success can be removed with student-centered planning and the development of self-advocacy skills. By coordinating needed supports, Treehouse partners with youth to pave the way to high school graduation, providing coaching and opportunities to support their future.

Available to high school-age youth currently seeking their high school diploma or GED statewide (no school district restriction), the Tribal Engagement program is currently accepting referrals for youth who are affiliated with the Lummi Tribe of the Lummi Reservation and the Puyallup Tribe of the Puyallup Reservation. Graduation Success is currently expanding to Yakima School District. At this time, we are only able to accept referrals for Eisenhower High School.

For youth being referred to the Tribal Engagement team:

Nearly all of our Graduation Success teams are experiencing waitlists. Sometimes the wait time to work with our Tribal Education Specialists is longer than the time to work with our general Education Specialists. How would you like us to prioritize your referral?

Graduation Success Coaching

Graduation Success Coaching serve students for one (1) year post-high school graduation and focus on short-term goals related to obtaining a degree or credential, a living wage, and stable housing.

The Treehouse Store

The Treehouse Store (Formerly The Wearhouse)

Available to youth statewide who are 5–21 years of age and to youth ages 0–4 with a placement in King County or a case held in King County. Youth must have an open dependency case with either the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF); the federal foster care system; or one of the tribal foster care systems.

Looking for Holiday Magic or Driver’s Assistance?

Holiday Magic

Holiday Magic does not accept referrals, but receives program eligibility directly from DCYF and participating tribes. Holiday Magic then reaches out to caregivers through email and letter notifications. The Holiday Magic gift request form can be accessed on our website here.

Driver’s Assistance

Driver’s Assistance does not require referrals. Eligible youth, their caregivers, or their social workers can submit requests on our website here. Eligibility for Driver’s Assistance will be verified through DCYF or tribe-specific ICW Director on a monthly basis. An information flyer about Driver’s Assistance can be downloaded here.
